The design is intentionally a bit wobbly, but it can be stabilized with proper care when racking and reversing the bolts. The spotter rests are questionable, so a user must be careful when putting a heavy bar on them. Once properly assembled, the bench is firm and priced reasonably well. One user purchased it for their son and made the most out of their limited space in the apartment. Another customer did not find it sturdy and wished for a refund. Target thinks it is a good deal, but one person did not find it as sturdy as they would like it to be.
