How are you calling 35 grams of carb per 2 1/4 ounce serving low carb?
Answer: While everyone has different definitions of "low carb," Banza has fewer net carbs than traditional pasta, thanks to the high fiber content of chickpeas. Our pasta is made from over 90% chickpeas (which are a slow digesting carb). In a 2.25 oz. serving of Banza Plant-Based Mac, there are 29g net carbs. Net carbs is total carbs minus dietary fiber. Banza has nearly 30% fewer net carbs than traditional noodles. -
Question:
How is this dairy free when the sauce contains lactic acid?
Answer: Lactic acid is traditionally created via the fermentation of sugars/carbohydrates and can be found in many dairy-free and/or vegan foods. The Lactic Acid in our Plant-Based Mac is derived from molasses, and is thus dairy-free.
