The LGB Freight G Scale Starter Set with Sound is a DC analog device, made in Hungary. This train set includes a steam locomotive with sound effects, and two freight cars which are all under 14" long. The smoke generator adds to the overall realism, although information on where to put the smoke fluid was not clear. The locomotive offers the "chuffing" sound and can be turned off if preferred. Note that the sound does not have an adjustable volume setting. This starter set does not come with a DCC decoder fitted, but it has a "Direct Decoder" fitting, meaning that fitting the decoder is a matter of opening up the locomotive, plugging the decoder in, and you are up and running. However, getting inside the loco can be tricky, even though there are steps available to help with this. Replacement parts, like transformers, are easily accessible online.
